Remember the Seinfeld episode where George Costanza said if he were in adult movies (being coy, trying to avoid spammers by using THAT word) his name would be Buck Naked? And the game where you choose your name by using your childhood pet's name and the street you lived on growing up? Well, my name would be Sandy Dunuggan. Or Shawn Dunuggan. Needless to say, I wasn't involved in naming family pets (that honor goes to my sister who named Shawn the cocker spaniel after Shawn Cassidy and Sandy the pomeranian after the color of her hair). The two dogs I had as an adult were named after Grateful Dead songs. When Megan and I are able to get a dog, we'll see who wins the battle of the dog's name (prediction: not me).
Anyway, that's how I came to the name of this blog, where I plan to post random thoughts, childhood memories (I'd like this to be a large part of the blog), political thoughts/analysis and, of course, sports. Especially Hawkeyes and Twins related sports. I'll also post a bit about energy related stuff when it comes up as that's my profession, but I'm doing this as a bit of an escape, so I'll try to keep that to a minimum.
